It is a hrase that alludes to the patterns in musings and letters that produced from Europe and the American states during that centruy. It is now and then alluded to as The Age of Reason. While religion had overwhelmed the rule of the puritans, legislative issues and logic represented the thoughts of the artistic pioneers of this new age. Maybe the most significant conviction of this period was the standing confidence in the intensity of human explanation. Authors accepted that information originates for a fact and perception guided by reason, and that human desires ought to be contered not on this life yet on the methods for improving the following one. They passed on the thoughts of the right to speak freely of discourse, opportunity of religion, and the option to be educatedl. Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Phillis Wheatley, and Philip Fre neau were five of the main scholarly sparks in the spreading of these convictions and ways of thinking. Benjamin Franklin, alluded to as the mainstream Puritan, is credited with having laid the ground rles for composing. He showed the cncepts that were crucial to the Age of Enlightenment. He accepted that by teaching the individuals and speaking to reason, the answers for human issues could be found. He stressed the estimation of utilitarian and logical training in American schools. His most acclaimed commitments to American Literature were the works of his Autobiography and Poor Richard's Almanac. He additionally settled the main flowing library in Philadelphia that keeps on working today. A companion of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine was another extraordinary energetic creator of the Enlightenment. He was an altruist, an admirer of his nation and all humanity. By the intensity of the pen, he energetically assaulted the overseeing class of his local land that he may do fight for the privileges of men. His first article distributed was an assault on American bondage and a request for the privileges of the Negro. He was first to recommend an association of the settlements, and the first to compose the words The United States of America. He later composed a handout known as Common Sense, which was the principal open intrigue for freedom, national life, and supreme partition. He achieved, with this flyer, more for the reason for partition than some other man of his time. In the entirety of his composition, Thomas Paine never lost his respect for truth and standard, and he never influenced in his loyalty to reason. Thomas Jefferson experienced childhood in the Age of Enlightenment while it was ruled by the endeavors of Benjamin Franklin. Like Franklin, Thomas Jefferson was accomplished and an admirer of books. He was a supporter of the right to speak freely of discourse, freddom of the press, opportunity of thought, and opportunity of educatin among different issues. He served in the Second Continental Congress, and in this way took part as the essential creator in the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. He at that point proceeded with his endeavors for the foundation of strict opportunity. After resigning he sold his own library of ten thousand books the administration, setting up the establishment for what is referred to today as the Library of Congress. Phillis Wheatley was an African slave and a recipient of the endeavors of the already emntioned Enlightenment pioneers in that she had the opportunity to instruction, which was given by her lord. She was thought to have been one of the moste learned youthful wamen in Boston. With her funeral poem on the demise of a renowned minister, she turned into the principal dark to be distributed, at sixteen years old. She composed verse as chivalrous couplet, and distributed her first volume of sonnets at nineteen years old or twenty. Philip Freneau was a writer and political columnist during the transitional time of the Revolution. He built up the National Gazette in Philadelphia and committed himself to the discussions between the Jeffersonian Democrats and Hamilton's Federalists. He turned out to be incredible in news coverage and legislative issues. His paper bombed following two years and Freneau withdrew to his ranch where he composed and distributed new expositions and sonnets. The works don't get the inspiration to work in this area as they can't discover approaches to improve their way of life by utilizing their aptitudes. Development organizations focus on arranging, driving, sorting out and controlling the activity so as to exceed expectations in the present serious world. Chiefs center around these angles before executing the undertaking. There have been various looks into relating to development industry, which have featured the reality unambiguously that the undertaking administrators are the most significant achievement factor of the tasks. In addition to our regular news posts, we briefly touch on a few notable stories from this dynamic field in one roundup. Gender equality at business schools has been a hot topic of discussion for years, but MBA programs are still struggling to attract an equal amount of men and women, Bloomberg Businessweek claims. Despite such recent efforts as a White Houseâ"facilitated pledge made by 150 business school leaders to help increase female enrollment, the average percentage of female MBA students has stood at 37.2% for the past ten years. One possible reason, according to the article, could be the typical business school work experience requirement of five years or more, which puts women who would like to start a family during that period in a difficult spot. âIf we decide to let women go straight [from college to business school], [â¦] thereâs no question that we would get more women in,â stated Sarah Fisher Gardial, dean of the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. Although some presidential candidate hopefuls are making big promises of free higher education, the idea remains a dream. However, one online university now offers something virtually unheard of: a tuition-free MBA. University of the People, a nonprofit online university, will welcome its first MBA class of 100 students in September for five nine-week terms. Of course, there is a catch: the tuition is free, but students are expected to cover other expenses of up to $2,400 during the program. â[University of the People] was set up to open the gates to higher education and to give an opportunity to those who donât have it,â President Shai Reshef said in a press release. âLaunching the worldâs most cost-effective MBA was a natural progression for the university, and hopefully, it will pave the way for other universities to follow.â The MBA has received its fair share of criticism from technology professionals lately. For example, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg recently said she does not believe the degree is important for working in the industry. Yet a recent Bloomberg Businessweek survey found that technology was the third most popular field (after finance and consulting) among recently graduated MBAs and that tech hires were paid more handsomely than graduates who accepted positions in finance. â[Tech] firms wouldnât keep coming back to hire our MBAs if it wasnât a valuable skill set,â said Rich Lyons, dean of the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, where 43% of the Class of 2015 accepted jobs in technology after graduation. Hair follicle stem cells are responsible for not only its self-renewal but also in the production of rapidly multiplying cells. The stem cells of the hair follicle are for temporary increase in cells, and are created by the differentiation of hair follicle stem cells. The focus of this essay will be to analyze a specific protein within the hair follicle stem cell BMP, bone morphogenetic proteins. Through intrinsic expression, Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are able to function in multi levels and are in charge for the transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta). These proteins are crucial for the maintenance and the proliferation of hair follicle stem cells. Bone morphogentic proteins have the ability to affect other molecules that are part of the niche, which boosts or limits particular cell ular functions to the needs of the human body and niche. This paper will discuss two experiments conducted that exhibit the function of BMP. One experiment will examine the results of BMP deletion in genetically modified dermal papilla cells patched onto mice that had no hair. The second scientific experiment will demonstrate the effects of excess and limited quantities of BMP expression in vitro on isolated chick otic vesicles. The Importance of the Land in Twentieth Century Irish Poetry Land in the Twentieth Century was very important to the Irish nation, and this is portrayed through the works of certain pieces of poetry, written by native countrymen Thomas Kinsella and Seamus Heaney. The poem Wormwood is expressed by Thomas Kinsella in a powerful and descriptive manner where the reader can experience the deepest thoughts of the writer, in his or her own way. The reader feels a sense of involvement as Kinsella sets the scene in the dank woods: In a thicket, among wet trees, stunned, minutely Shuddering, hearing a wooden echo escape. Although the two parts are joined together, they attitudes are very dissimilar. As the IRA intervene, and cause even more controversy the countrys become even more separated, (the trees being separated by the axe). Between my finger and thumb The squat pen rests; snug as a gun. This quotation refers to Seamus Heaneys poem, Digging. It immediately refers to Heaneys poetical setup, but when it refers to being snug as a gun. Maybe he is letting us in to the secrets of his country and how crime and violence around the time of his work was a focal point among the citizens of Ireland. The descriptive nature of his poem brings the reader close to the poem in a sense of involvement. This is similar to Kinsellas poem which was referred to earlier. He is very proud of his family and his familys predecessors. For example he tells us of his famous Grandfather, who would work solidly and was better than any other man at his job: My Grandfather cut more turf in a day Than any other man on Toners bog. This also leads on to the point that Ireland was such a poor nation at this time, it had to work very hard to achieve what it desired. Gene and Finny possess traits that vary greatly, which cause both conflict and jealousy for both of them. A compare and contrast of Gene and Finnyââ¬â¢s perception of self and others and their conflict management behavior reveals Knowlesââ¬â¢ theme that jealousy lies at the heart of the creation of internal enemies. Finny and Gene both perceive themselves differently, as Geneââ¬â¢s insecurities draw back to internal turmoil while Finnyââ¬â¢s humble confidence causes jealousy between the two boys and creates a force inside the soul that must be controlled. One afternoon, Finny and Gene are walking past the record board when Finny spots the record for the 50-meter freestyle and says: ââ¬Å"I have a feeling that I can swim faster than A. His beliefs were that imperialism is the key to political and economic power and shows how British nationalism led to the expansion of its territories. ââ¬Å" It often strikes a man to inquire what is the chief good in life; to one the thought comes that it is a happy marriage, to another great wealth, and such seizes on his idea for that he more or less works for the rest of his existence. (pg. 243) Cecil Rhodes wanted nothing more than to serve his country. He believes that the Anglo-Saxon race should rule the world. ââ¬Å"I contend that we are the finest race in the world and that the better it is for the human race. Humans being born that are not going to be raised in the Anglo-Saxon race are a waste to him. He wanted to make the British Empire a superpower in which all of the white countries in the empire would be represented in the British Parliament. Why should we not form a secret society with but one object the furtherance of the British Empire and the bringing of the whole uncivilized world under British rule for the recovery of the United States for the making the Anglo-Saxon race but one Empire. â⬠(pg. 243) Rhodes did want to breed an American elite of philosopher-kings who would have the USA rejoin the British Empire. His dream is made clear on how and why he wanted the whole world to be like the Anglo-Saxon race. Rhodes did respect the Germans and the Kaiser, but still thought his race and society was better. Rhodes made his point very clear in this excerpt and goes into detail on what other races do wrong. ââ¬Å"It is our duty to seize every opportunity of acquiring more territory and we should keep this one idea steadily before our eyes that more territory simply means more of the Anglo-Saxon race more of the best the most human, most honourable race the world possesses. â⬠(pg. 243) For his race, he has very high standards on how to spread this belief of his. The more land the race can acquire, the better off the race would be. To Rhodes his idea of the world turning into a one-race world is his dream. By expanding and expressing his ideas and beliefs, it would make the Anglo-Saxon race even more prevailing. ââ¬Å"The Society should always be searching for members who might by their energies or character forward the object but the ballot and test for admittance should be severe)â⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (pg. 244) Ceil Rhodes was a very powerful and wealthy man in his time. He was one of the wealthiest men in the world. I think since he had so much wealth it made him come to the conclusion he could control the world and make it a one-race society. I would compare Rhodes to an earlier Adolph Hitler, with trying to succeed a one-race dominance. Rhodes has too much of a racists mind for me. God is the only creator in race, and Rhodes trying to be God is a disgrace to mankind. All races are different in there own way and have the right to live wherever they please. ebonyanderson1985http://www.blogger.com/profile/00106265564649933161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7867108782751536049.post-52873265397544685512020-04-09T20:34:00.001-07:002020-04-09T20:34:02.236-07:00Advantages and Disadvantages of Phones free essay sample Thyxkris, here are my comments for your writing. He led India through its struggle to independence and has been rightfully called the "Father of the nation" or "Bapu, meaning Father" in India. He was a great visionary and in his thoughts and actions were far ahead of his times. He lived his life for his principles of simple living and high thinking. He wanted to follow "satya" or truth and ahimsa or non-violence. In a world of crimes and death rows, he showed that spirituality and a deep concern for his fellow beings a can achieve a lot through the toughest of odds. In the Times Magazine, year 2000 Johanna McGreary, writes that, "In an age of empire and military might, he proved that the powerless had power and that force of arms would not forever prevail against force of spirit." Times magazine had nominated him as the runner up for the "Person of the Century". Gandhiji's autobiography, "The Story of My Experiments with Truth" makes gripping reading and one cannot but be amazed at the humble beginnings and simple circumstances which has led to the shaping of this great soul who served as a documented inspiration for celebrities like Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Lech Walesa, and Aung San Suu Kyi. Set in the time frame of the mid 1800's to the mid 1900's it targets multiple audiences, which are riveted towards it for the different facets it presents. It walks us through his innocence childhood, youthful discrepancies and an emerging maturity as he sees the world and takes in the sufferings and the steeled principles, which eventually sees him, triumph. He is never at a loss for words because it's just a narration of the happenings in his life, his inspirations, both people and events, and a will to impart his education and knowledge to the readers. His autobiography is very simply written and starts honest account of what how his life began. He was born in Porbunder in 1869 on October 2nd. He was the youngest of three brothers. He was born in to a traditional, religious "Vaishnavite " family meaning a particular caste bound by specific religious beliefs and cultural codes. His father was a strict but very well respected "Divan" or official in the administration and was young Gandhi's role model. His mom is portrayed as a very religious person who put herself through fasts and saintly austerities and accepted every hardship as a will of god and did not flinch when things didn't go according to plan. Young Gandhi states that two of the most inspiring events in his life happened during his childhood. One of his first memories is the reading of a book about 'Sharvan", a son who stuck to taking care of his parents with unerring devotion and care. He was enamored by this fact and the proof that he imbibed it well is that when his father is bed ridden later in his life he was one of the prime nursing aides: even in his young age, he is supposed to have forgone time at the gym in order that he rushes home to be at his father's side. But at the same time, he also feels very badly when he spends time with his ebonyanderson1985http://www.blogger.com/profile/00106265564649933161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7867108782751536049.post-26178883510115944492020-02-05T23:02:00.004-08:002020-02-05T23:03:40.920-08:00The Determinants of Household Poverty in the USA - 1980 Statistics ProjectThe Determinants of Household Poverty in the USA - 1980 - Statistics Project Example It is the dependent variable in this analysis. The handbook is used to familiarize the employees with the policies and procedures that are to be followed in the organization. Employers may include certain provisions that dictate how the employees may carry out certain activities without putting the employerââ¬â¢s business in jeopardy. The employers should ensure that they use the right language that will be later be interpreted by the employees in the right manner and that may not be violating employee organizational rights. Most employers ensure that the employee handbook has certain restrictions that prevent employees from sharing the employerââ¬â¢s confidential information with outsiders. Such information is not usually available to the public and if it happens that it is leaked out, it would cause some damages to their business. However, it is under the National Labor Relations act (NLRA) that the employees are free to discuss details about their compensation or conditions against which they have been employed with other people who are not part of the organization. The NLRB prohibits employers from giving policies of this nature. One of the Sections in the NLRA states that employees have a right to join or form unions or even be engaged in concerted activities. However another section states that there are unfair labor practices that may be faced by an employer if employees join or form these unions or engage in other concerted activities. There may be problematic employee organizational rights that are under the NRLA but the employers can draft them in such a way that they are lawful according to the Act. The employers may include some anti-union statements that may be used when employees engage in unfair labor practices. Whatever provisions are included in the handbook about legal considerations such as how the employer may violate the rights of the employees and generally how each party should conduct its activities without hurting each other. ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS With many and different types of employees from different parts of a nation or even region, there is always a need for the employers to have certain considerations concerning the ethical culture of the organization. The ethical culture of an organization defines how the employees are to carry out all the operations in the organization. Employees are supposed to treat customers with much respect since they are the major source of profits for the organization. They are supposed to take care of the interests of the employers and at the same time take care of their own interests. These interests should not be in conflict since they depend on the employer and the employer also depends on their efforts. The ethical considerations may also involve how to pass information to their core workers or the line managers or even to the top management. They are supposed to use a certain communication channel that has been specified in the employee handbook. Communication is one of the important aspects in a business and therefore employers may consider this as one of the elements that determine the public image that they depict to the general public. Privacy is also a matter of ethical consideration whereby the employees are obligated to keep information about their employer to themselves and not discuss their terms and conditions of their employment. Each organization and employer will have their own considerations to include in the employee handbooks but they should conform to the Acts of the National Labor Relations Act. Roger K. Whatsimportant is the way we live, not the historical manufacturing of facts whichis more evidence, not description, of the current Religion of the AmericanEconomy. And while most ofthese truths should be self evident (like any good preamble), some statisticswill be cited to illustrate their culmination in everyday life. To set this new dogma in context, Iwill also describe the founding principles of Christian living, with particularattention paid to the economic reality of what such living entails. Current Church of State Whatthe U.S. has done, indeed what most of us have endorsed, to traditionalreligion is well ! described by Jeffrey Haynes in his essay on religion andpolitics: Almosteverywhere, modern states have sough to reduce religions politicalinfluence, to privatize it and hence significantly reduce its political andsocial importance. But . . .states have also recognized the importance of religion for politics by seekingto create civil religionsthat is, bodies of state designatedreligious dogma. The purpose wasto engineer consensual, corporate religious forms that could claim to be guidedby general, culturally appropriate, societally specific beliefs, notnecessarily tied institutionally to any specific religious tradition. The development of civil religion wasoften part of a strategy not merely to avoid social conflicts but also to tryto promote national co-or! dination in countries with serious religious and/orideological... ... ofmomentum. To the credit ofChristianity, however, it has stood a much greater test of time and its founderwas willing to die for it. Theprivileged class of RAE founders, on the other hand, are mostly unaware oftheir religion (scattered throughout the airwaves and public policy) and notlikely to defend its doctrine at gunpoint. I remember on Sunday all day not knowing what and how to feel and what to expect. I woke up Monday morning nervous and excited, but also blessed because I feel lucky for what I call ââ¬Å"one of those fortunate kids to be able to attend collegeâ⬠. Iââ¬â¢ve been reading this devotional book each morning since I began Monday and I pray before I leave the house. Monday morning, I got on this campus, and I immediately started walking towards my first class, excited and anxious, but nervous because I didnââ¬â¢t know anyone in the class. I met my first teacher for the day, Mrs. Martinez for Math, and she is such a sweet and nice woman. Then, I had my hour-and-a-half until my next class, Student Success, so I met up with my best friend Whitney, which I havenââ¬â¢t seen the last time we were at Taco Bell with her mom and grandma, sometime in late June or early July. Her mom passed away last month and Thursday, August 29th would be one month. I was so happy to see her and share my college experience with her!!! Then, I had lunch and bought a ham and swiss cheese sub. Then, it was time to go to my last class, Student Success with Mrs. Butler, who is also a lovely lady. I walked in the class, with my friend Alison, and was nervous not knowing what to expect. The syllabus and presentation was very informative and I enjoyed playing and listening to the ââ¬Å"Have You Ever?â⬠and the ââ¬Å"Head, Shouldersâ⬠games. The day ended. We cannot deny that they were made by ancient Egyptians but specifically by who is what we are trying to ask. According to Wikipedia, Egyptologists believe that the pyramid was built as a tomb for fourth dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu and he had the structure built for a 20 year period. Experts are in debate as to whether it was built with slave labor or with expert artisans, but Pyramid of secrets by Alan Alford can give us some insight into this debate. This book indicated that there were specific passages and pathways that were expertly planned and studied before being built. He also indicated that somehow, the people who built these passages wanted them to be found in some way, ideally by someone who would take time to study architecture . In contrast, Stonehenge, although built in Europe, specifically Wiltshire, we can not be sure who built it. Researchers, scientists, and experts have had different stories, theories, and speculations about who made this structure. They are seen as a great extracurricular activity that creates a sense of community between players. On the other hand, sports are viewed as a distraction from school. Everyone can agree that sports have become the focal point at many schools leading teachers to feel academics have become secondary. The seemingly endless debate is addressed by Dr. Mark Edmundson in an article of his that was published in The Chronicle of Higher Education. In Do Sports Build Character or Damage It? published by The Chronicle of Higher Education, Mark Edmundson uses literary references and his personal experience playing football to examine how sports contribute to building character and how sports can damage it. First, he states how sports are in fact a complicated issue for coaches as well as educators. Secondly, Edmundson uses his personal experience playing football to show the effect sports can have on one s character: it had conquered [hi s] grinding self-consciousness (par. 7) but it also made him more aggressive. Finally, Edmundson compares football to the teachings of Plato, as well as to Hector from The Iliad, who can turn-off his aggression when not in war, which is in contrast to Achilles, who is blinded by his own rage. In conclusion, Edmundson examines sportsââ¬â¢ intensely hierarchical (par. 45) structure as well as its negative effects on behavior, but also the character enhancing aspects. Answer: Introduction Starbucks is a well-recognized coffer house chain which has managed to spread across the globe and enjoys considerable popularity among its customers. Established in 1971 in Seattle, Washington the brand has managed to expand its operations extraordinarily to over 24,400 coffee shops across the world. Starbucks specializes in servicing Coffee, Smoothies, Tea, Baked Products and Sandwiches to customers visiting the stores(Schultz 2011). But it has been argued by many that Starbucks doesnt actually sell its products but its services and brand due to offering different setting which attracts customers to the coffee house. Starbucks A Product or a Service Starbuck has grown to be a major coffee house brand globally and stores are located in most major cities and shopping malls. The stores offer coffee as well as several accompaniments but its the setting which truly attracts customers. With a cup of coffee costing approximately $5.00 on average, customers are not likely to be visiting the Starbucks for their daily morning coffee while on the way to work. Instead, its common to find families and friends visiting malls opting to visit coffee house(Schultz 2012). By considering this, one can claim that Starbucks mainly sells its services to customers who can enjoy the setting and amenities while enjoying their coffee. Its common to find customers visiting the store as an outing or mini-party with many also opting to click photos while at the Starbucks stores. All these factors contribute towards demonstrating that Starbucks is mainly considered as a service business where customers visit to enjoy the coffee but also experience the brand. Starbucks is well recognized for offering a unique setting at each of its stores which also seeing customers visiting different Starbucks stores just to experience the coffee houses. Again the setting is different but the brand allows for the customers to click photos which they can then share on the social media website and show friends. In addition to coffee and accompaniments, Starbucks also offers and study section where customers can sit and enjoy their coffee while working. Starbucks offers a power pluck and free Wi-Fi to its customers which allow them to go about doing their work while having coffee at the restaurant. This helps attract additional customers to the store since many people need a place to sit and do some work on their computer, tablet or smart phone for a few minutes. This results in Starbucks seeing regular customers visiting the restaurant to use the facilities during the day time house which allows the stores remain operations at all times. Evenings see large crowds visiting to experience the service and brand which makes Starbucks more of a service as compared to a product(Duncan Moriarty 1997). This is due to most people visit the stores so as to be part of the brand and not necessarily to have the coffee. Applying the Principles of Service Marketing Investing On a Skilled Workforce Starbucks is a well-recognized brand globally but every brand is heavily dependent on its staff to deliver a positive impression to the customers. This is well understood by Starbucks and the brand has invested heavily towards hiring and training the staff to handle customers in the most professional manner possible(Lovelock Wright 2002). Staff communication and interactions with customers have a direct influence on service marketing since the staffs are the point of contact between the brand and its customers. To ensure the staff delivers a positive impression and experience to its customers always Starbucks recruits if staff through a strict selection process after which employees are sent for thorough training before visiting their floor. The new employees also take up job responsibilities which do not require direct customer interactions till they have developed adequate skill and confidence and have passed the QA on job training tests. Offering More than Coffee Starbucks is a well-recognized coffee house but the brand doesnt focus only selling great coffee. Instead it also offers a world class setting that attracts customers to the brand. Most of its customers visit the stores to experience the brand and use the facilities. This change in Starbucks service delivery strategy changed during at the turn of the millennium whereby a major increase in the use of digital technologies was registered. This resulted in more people being able to communicate while on the move which delivered freedom to work on the move. For many, visiting a secluded coffee house like Starbucks allowed them to have a cup or two of coffee while having an important meeting call. This would see Starbucks register a huge number of visitors making use of the facility for important work and business which allowed the business to begin growing popular and expanding exponentially. This trend continues today and is considered as an important service marketing strategy which cust omers access and use thus keeping the brand very popular. Free high-speed Wi-Fi As of 2016, 90% of Starbucks 14 million customers were internet users. This is due to Starbucks targeting middle and higher income groups who can afford to purchase the latest communication gadgets. Offering free high-speed Wi-Fi has also helped contribute immensely towards Starbucks service marketing(Jaffe 2010). With customers visiting the coffee house to work and have important meetings, it has become a common place that people will visit and utilize the facilities to communicate or work. Offering Hot breakfast Service Most of Starbucks customers visit the stores to do some work or have a meeting over coffee during the day or for entertainment during the evening hours. It is therefore unlikely that the Starbucks Hot breakfast Service will register success as the brand mainly attracts professionals looking for a comfortable setting to complete some work over coffee or those reaching for an outing. This makes the hot breakfast service idea one which may register failure due to customers not searching to have a meal at Starbucks but rather just a hot beverage while on the move. Conclusion Starbucks is today ranked as the leading coffee house globally and the brand continued growing day by day. This success has been directly linked to the brand's strategic service marketing which has allowed the brand to retain its customers confidence and continue registering success. With more brands entering the coffee house business it has become critical to ensure customer satisfaction is retained at a high level at all times so as to ensure business suitability in todays competitive market. American political thought occupies an area dedicated to centralist, broad-based political unity on the political spectrum. Therefore, this paper is divided into two main sections. The first section will cover the ideologies that are discussed in Nancy Loves book Understanding Dogmas and Dreams, and those ideologies we discussed in class. The second section is a survey of the most important political shifts in politics since the colonial period. As comprehensive detail was not the goal of this paper detail is apparent perhaps only in the ideology section and in the specific time periods addressed. To begin, communal anarchism rests on the belief that humans can live together cooperatively in a non-authoritarian society. As of criticism at existing society, communal anarchism denies that the state rests on any moral or natural law. Instead, anarchists like Emma Goldman say that the state uses coercion to sustain its laws, and therefore is opposed to nature. Communal anarchists further state that taxation and conscription violate citizens rights to property and liberty. They believe the state is the problem with society, not the solution in communal anarchism. Society views communal anarchism as utopian and impossible because of humans corruptibility. Oppositely, communal anarchists see the state as the source of corruption because it invests power to rule. Communal anarchists insist that, So long as political power exists, there will be ruler and ruled, masters and slaves, exploiters and exploited. The modern example of communal anarchism is the hippie communes of the 1960s where everyone worked for each other and there were no classes. Since then, till the current phase of the economic conditions prevailing within United States the interest rates has been recorded below 0.5% which shows further decline in the countryââ¬â¢s financial market (US Department of the Treasury, 2012). Inflation Rates Fig.2: US Inflation Rates 2002-2012 (US Inflation Calculator, 2012) The inflation rates of the United States which was recorded as 4.1% during the year 2007 which further declined to 0.1% by the year 2008. This indicates that in terms of inflation rates the economy is regaining its stability performing almost similarly as during the period prior to 2007 (US Inflation Calculator, 2012). Unemployment Rates Fig.3: US Unemployment Rates 2007-2012 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012) In relation to the above represented statist ics, it can be observed that United States witnessed an unemployment rate between 4-5% during 2007-2008. This further augmented to above 8% by 2012. This indicates that the economy had been witnessing a continuous de-gradation of its employment situation in the labor market over the past five years (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012). 2. Propose two (2) strategies that the federal government could implement that would encourage people to spend more money in order to create employment opportunities. Financial Leverage Financial leverage can be considered as one of the effective sets of practices in which the Return on Equity (RoE) is increased through the escalating rate of debt amounts. With this concern, the federal government of the U.S. should be focused on magnifying the amount of RoE even in situations when debt amounts tend to be increasing. Therefore, the financial strategy of the federal government should consider the investable assets related to the amount of equity as it would promote financial growth (Financial Literacy and Education Commission, 2011). Financial Decision Making and Financial Literacy Strategies related to the augmentation of financial literacy and effective decision making process would further provide competent direction in relation to financial education, policy, research, practice as well as coordination among the stakeholders, investors and other financial institutions. Moreover, effective forms of financial education and decision making process would offer the benefits of evaluating the risk of interest rates and provide an effective way to trim down the debt amounts (Financial Literacy and Education Commission, 2011). 3. Identify a situation in the past 50 years in which the government used antitrust policies to stop a monopoly from occurring. Include the circumstances of the proposed monopoly and the reason the government stepped in. Predict what would have occurred had the monopoly succeeded. Various antitrust policies h ave been implemented by the US government over the past decades to prohibit unhealthy competition in terms of monopoly within its national business environment.
